About
Our Mission
To provide a safe, temporary shelter for individuals and families experiencing homelessness and addiction and connect them to resources in the community that would help promote their self-sufficiency.

Who we are?
Seeds of Hope of TN is a 501c3 non profit organization dedicated to providing shelter, support, and resources to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in White County, Tennessee. We believe that everyone deserves a safe and stable place to call home, and we are committed to empowering individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve self-sufficiency.
Our History
Seeds of Hope began as a dream by Tina Lomax, the Director of Seeds of Hope, after she herself experienced homelessness with her four children. She escaped from a life of abuse, but she and her four children had nowhere to go and no means
to survive.
After some time, she encountered a woman who helped her find the resources she needed to change and rebuild her life. That experience planted a desire to help others who were caught in the same kind of cycle that Tina herself had experienced. Fifteen years ago, Tina was called into this high-risk ministry, and Seeds of Hope was begun.
Seeds of Hope of TN has been registered and works as a non-profit organization, 501C3. Tina’s hope and desire for all this time is to have a permanent dwelling place for those needing temporary housing and help. This dream became a reality in February 2025 when the Seeds of Hope house was built and opened its doors for the first time after serving the community for the past six years with a winter shelter. The beautiful dwelling place at 239 King Street offers hope and respite to those suffering from homelessness and addiction.
Tina is trained and certified as a Christian Coach and Trauma Healing Practitioner. She continues to work tirelessly to end homelessness in White County and to bring healing to those hurting who come to her for help. Her desire is summed up in the statement she has in big letters on the main wall of the Seeds house, which says:
“Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at the
very least, don’t hurt them.”
